Live Well San Diego: San Diego County Parks and Recreation Summer Activities
Join ABC10, Azteca San Diego, and the County of San Diego - and Live Well San Diego by getting active this summer!
The TRACK Trails Program is a great way to get the family outside and active on a one-mile hike. Head out to San Elijo Lagoon Ecological Reserve, Louis Stelzer or Lindo Lake County Park for a TRACK Trails hike that features self-guided brochures and signs that turn your visit into a fun and exciting outdoors experience. Best of all, you can earn PRIZES for tracking your adventures online. For more information on the TRACK Trails program visit www.kidsinparks.com.
If you haven’t had a chance this summer to watch a movie in the park, we still offer a bunch of dates and locations throughout the County. This is a free activity and its family friendly. Popular movies such as the Lego Movie, and Frozen, to classics such as Mary Poppins will show on the big screen. Visit www.summermoviesinthepark.com to find a movie at a park near you.
If you’re a working parent, keeping your kids busy during the summer is important. County Parks offers a variety of day camps at our community centers located in Fallbrook, Lakeside, and Spring Valley. Some programs last all day and others are for half a day, but kids will be active, entertained, and satisfied. We offer a superhero camp, a Lego Jedi engineering camp, and a princess camp just to name a few. Different age groups ranging from three to 12 can participate. There are still openings, so log on to www.sdparks.org to sign up!
