Ariana Duarte was born and raised in San Diego and is thrilled to be back working in her hometown. She graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism from the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism at the University of Southern California. (Fight On!)

Ariana has worked as an anchor and reporter all across California. She began her career as an intern for the KNBC Investigative Unit in Burbank, CA. While attending USC, Ariana worked as a bilingual reporter for ATVN, covering breaking news stories in Los Angeles, San Diego, and Mexico.

After working as a weekend anchor and reporter for an NBC affiliate in Northern California (where she met her husband, Preston Phillips), Ariana joined the FOX affiliate in Fresno, where she anchored the weekday prime-time newscast and helped to progressively and consistently boost ratings.

Ariana and her husband, Preston, joined the 10News team in 2009.

Some of her most memorable experiences include interviewing inmates behind bars, touring California's prisons, reporting from a Tijuana orphanage, covering homelessness on Skid Row, speaking to Oprah Winfrey, and investigating gang warfare throughout California. She has also covered several major wildfires and numerous high-profile trials.

Ariana is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and the Radio-Television News Directors Association.

Ariana is fluent in Spanish and enjoys traveling, writing, running, attending church and listening to Mariachi music.

She loves spending time with her family, especially her husband, Preston, and their son, McKinley Nicholas.
