SAN DIEGO -- A San Diego family -- who lost their mother to cancer -- is now fighting to keep another family member alive, 10News reported.George Solis is very ill and in desperate need of a bone marrow transplant. Now, the Solis family and friends are trying to educate people about the need for bone marrow donors. They are focusing especially on the Latino community, where, they say, many are afraid the test for the bone marrow registry will be painful."Things have changed so much that all you got to do is when you give blood you just do another tube. That's it. Just an extra tube. But what it can do is save some lives," said Solis' neighbor, Mr. G.A blood and bone marrow drive is planned for Solis Monday at 2 p.m. at 7065 Broadway in Lemon Grove.
