Researchers at the University of California, San Diego Medical Center are conducting a clinical trial on the effects of obesity surgery on teenagers.

The hospital is looking for 22 participants to take part in the nationwide study.

The study will examine the safety and effectiveness of a procedure called gastric banding on adolescents.

Gastric banding is a procedure that has an adjustable band that helps reduce the size of the stomach.

To learn more about the clinical trial, call UCSD Medical Center at 619-543-2484.
