Medical Spa Brings Treatments To Patient's Door

Botox, injectable fillers and laser treatments could easily erase away the years.

But finding the time to get to the medical spa is a bit harder.

Now, a new service brings the doctor right to a patient's door.

Many medical spas offer the latest in age-defying treatments.

Under the guidance of doctors and nurses, fine lines, wrinkles and skin damage disappear.

But getting to the doctor’s office is the biggest challenge for busy women.

"Just to get away for lunch is just about impossible,” said mortgage banker Susan Rich.

Rich’s busy schedule used to keep her from getting to the spa for her skin treatment, but now the spa comes to her.

Dr. Donna Richardson of Destinations Medical Spa said, "Technology has advanced to the point now where we can bring everything that we used to do in the spa right to somebody's home."

Rich said, “It's very relaxing, especially after a long day at work.”

Destinations Medical Spa is Southern California’s first doctor-managed mobile medical spa.

"I don't know if you would call it a drive-by Botox, but that's sort of what it is,” said Richardson.

Rich went to Destinations to receive a laser treatment typically offered only in a medical office.

"When we leave your house, no one is going to know any different; you are just going to have a rosy glow,” said Richardson.

Richardson and her team of nurses are trained to offer a wide-range of non-invasive cosmetic procedures, including a laser genesis wrinkle reduction treatment, non-surgical face-lifts, chemical peels, injections like Botox, restylane and cosmoderm, and even vein therapy -- all in the privacy of a patient's own home.

"We're quite competitive -- simply because we don't have the overhead of an office,” said Richardson.

Rich, who works at home as a mortgage banker, said she is thrilled she no longer has to waste time driving to and from the dermatologist’s office.

"I am always trying to schedule stuff and don't have time to get to the appointment and have to cancel; so, this is nice,” said Rich. “It’s kind of like giving yourself a little break, a little treatment.”

Richardson said her staff offers flexible appointment times every day except Sundays.
