Cumin is shaped like a caraway seed and is the dried fruit of a plant in the parsley family. Found in most supermarkets and Asian markets, it is available in both seed and ground forms, and has a nutty flavor. As with all seeds, it should be stored in a cool, dark place for up to 6 months.
