SAN DIEGO -- Victims of the Cedar and Paradise fires still need help getting back on their feet, three months after the infernos destroyed more than 2,400 homes.The San Diego Union-Tribune released a list, community by community, of what the victims need the most.Alpine/Lakeside
Many victims need help clearing their lots of burned debris, Robin Clegg, executive director of the East County Fire Relief Center, told the newspaper. Anyone wishing to donate or lend tools, equipment or trash bins or who would like to volunteer to work can contact Clegg at (619) 561-3965.

The most pressing need of victims is tools and sheds as they begin to rebuild their homes, Robert Irwin, pastor at St. Louise de Marillac Catholic Church said.As victims rebuild their homes, they will also need items for everyday use such as clothes, toilet paper, paper plates and plastic silverware, Irwin said.Donated items can be dropped of at the parish hall. Volunteers from the Mennonite Disaster Service are helping residents clear rubble in the community and need food and tools to get the job done.Donations may be dropped off at the Julian-Cuyamaca Community Resource Center at Fourth and B streets. Monetary donations can be sent to the Julian-Cuyamaca Community Resource Center, P.O. Box 411, Julian, CA 92036.In an ongoing effort to raise funds for Julian fire victims, a poster of the 1935 painting of downtown Julian by artist Ivan Messenger is being sold in area stores for $25.Poway
The Rotary club of Poway has teamed with the Knights of Columbus of St. Gabriel's Catholic Church to organize a drive to replace tools lost by local construction workers in the blaze.Donations may be brought to Poway Valley Collision, at Poway and Garden roads, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
