When the concept of a firefighter journal first arose, I thought it would be a great chance to highlight the Bonita Fire Department and an even better opportunity to educate people about how they can protect themselves and their families from some of the dangers that we, as firefighters, see every day.Bonita is an unincorporated community that sits in the southern region of San Diego County, nestled in between Chula Vista to the South, National City to the West, San Diego City to the North and Spring Valley to the East. Bonita is about 5 square miles with a population of around 15,000 residents. From its humble beginnings as a lemon orchard, the community is rich in history. Bonita is a quiet bedroom community with a rural flair-where it is not uncommon to see someone riding through the local fast food restaurant drive-through on horseback. We look forward to sharing with you more about the district and what our job is all about.
Sincerely,Josh Krimston, Firefighter/Paramedic*Josh has been a Firefighter with the Bonita Fire Department for almost six years and has worked as a Paramedic in San Diego County for more than twelve years. Josh serves as the department's Injury Prevention Specialist and works extensively with community partners.*
