Police: Chargers Ryan Matthews not arrested

SAN DIEGO - Chargers running back Ryan Matthews was not arrested after a fight outside a Gaslamp Quarter nightclub Sunday, despite what an online news website is reporting, San Diego police told 10News.
According to San Diego police "Ryan Matthews ... is not a suspect in any criminal case at this time."
Police are looking into a reported assault and battery incident at SideBar, located on 5th Avenue and Market Street, but would not release further information.
According to an article from the Examiner.com, a witness saw a group of men approaching Matthews and another man outside of SideBar. The witness told Examiner.com that a fight broke out and at least one person involved needed to be taken to UCSD Medical Center.
10News confirmed with San Diego Fire-Rescue that an assault victim was taken from the downtown location Sunday.
