CALABASAS, Calif. -
A 911 prank reportedly sent deputies to singer Justin Bieber's Calabasas home Wednesday morning.
The response by deputies from the Malibu/Lost Hills Station was generated by a 911 emergency call about 1:40 a.m., and "it was determined to be false," said Nicole Nishida of the sheriff's department.
Nishida declined to confirm a TMZ.com report that the residence was that of singer Justin Bieber.
According to TMZ, the caller claimed someone was waving a gun next to Bieber's home, and the singer's security detail allowed authorities to search the residence.
So-called "swatting" pranks -- aimed at provoking a large SWAT-type police response -- recently targeted Miley Cyrus and Ashton Kutcher.
