Octomom goes to rehab for prescription drug addiction

Nadya Suleman reportedly addicted to Xanax

LOS ANGELES -

Octomom Nadya Suleman has checked into rehab for prescription drug addiction, TMZ reported.

According to the site, Suleman is addicted to the anti-anxiety drug Xanax.

"Ms. Suleman has been taking Xanax that was prescribed by her doctor to deal with her anxiety but she felt she needed a treatment program to help with her recovery," her representative said in a statement to ABC News. "She will be in treatment for 28 days or more if needed."

Suleman left the care of her 14 children to three nannies and two friends.

She filed for bankruptcy earlier this year but appears to have come into cash after launching her adult film career. According to ABC, she gave the website Rumorfix a tour of her new, 5,000-square-foot Palmdale, Calif. home earlier this month.
