Kutcher files for divorce from Moore

Couple announced split in Nov. 2011

LOS ANGELES - More than a year after the couple announced their split, "Two and a Half Men" star Ashton Kutcher filed for divorce Friday from his wife of seven years, actress Demi Moore.

The couple were married on Sept. 24, 2005. Kutcher's divorce petition state's only "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split.

Moore, 50, announced on Nov. 17, 2011, that she was splitting from Kutcher, 34, "with great sadness and a heavy heart."

"As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life," Moore said in a statement released last year. "This is a trying time for me and my family, and so I would ask for the same compassion and privacy that you would give to anyone going through a similar situation.

Kutcher confirmed the split on his Twitter page, writing, "I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi."

"Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail. Love and Light, AK," he wrote.

Kutcher is now dating his one-time "That '70s Show" co-star, Mila Kunis.

The marriage was the first for Kutcher, and the third for Moore, who had three children with her previous husband, actor Bruce Willis.
