BUCKEYE, AZ - One Arizona high school sent a powerful message to Katy Perry and she heard the ROAR.
Verrado High School was named a finalist Monday morning on “Good Morning America” in the Katy Perry contest.
On their first day of fall break, Verrado students crowded their gymnasium early in the morning to show school pride on "GMA."
If Verrado is chosen as the winner, they will win a Katy Perry concert at their school on Oct. 25.
On Sept. 6, ABC's "Good Morning America" and pop star Perry teamed up to challenge high schools across the country to create the best music video using Perry’s song “Roar.”
Verrado's two-minute video showcases a senior born with a learning disability, who has become an inspiration on their campus.
She has been on the cheerleading team all four years and has been its heart and soul. The video has close to 80,000 views on YouTube as of Monday morning.
The winning school will be notified Oct. 10.
