Filming on COLIN FARRELL's new movie has been postponed over fears the shoot could be disrupted by a tropical storm.

The Irish actor was scheduled to begin work on Winter's Tale in New York on Monday (29Oct12), but movie bosses have now pushed the production's start date back by a day.

The move followed reports which suggest Tropical Storm Sandy - which was downgraded from hurricane status on Saturday (28Oct12) - is due to hit the area on Monday after high winds and rain killed more than 40 people in the Caribbean.

A spokesperson for Warner Bros., the studio behind Winter's Tale, confirmed the move to Deadline.com, revealing the decision was taken "as a precaution."

The film also stars Downton Abbey actress Jessica Brown Findlay.
