Joints handed out by opponents of retail weed tax

DENVER - It could be a real buzzkill in the new home of legal pot.
Denver Mayor Michael Hancock says he wants to outlaw handouts of free pot in city parks and tells Colorado Public Radio the proposed ordinance will be introduced Monday.
Colorado voters legalized pot last November.
Next month, voters are being asked to pass a 25 percent tax on retail weed.
Opponents of the tax have been handing out free joints at their rallies. Hancock says those giveaways would be banned by the proposed ordinance.
