Boston Marathon bombing suspect to be featured on Rolling Stone magazine cover

The young man accused in the Boston Marathon bombings will be featured on the cover of the August 3 edition of Rolling Stone magazine.

The controversial cover features a photo taken by Dzhokhar Tsarnaev himself before his arrest and includes the headline "The Bomber."

The story aims to explain "how a popular, promising student was failed by his family, fell into radical Islam and became a monster."

The cover – which usually featuring rock stars and celebrities – sparked a frenzy on Twitter and Facebook where many users said it glamorizes Tsarnaev.

Rolling Stone also garnered criticism after featuring notorious featured cult leader Charles Manson on its June 1970 cover.

Tsarnaev, who is currently being held without bail in a federal prison in Massachusetts, has pleaded not guilty to 30 counts in connection with the April 15 bombing.
