SAN DIEGO -- A popular Los Angeles burger chain opened its first San Diego store this weekend, 10News reported. By word of mouth only, the first Tommy's was doing brisk business Monday. The restaurant is located near Clairemont Mesa Boulevard and Ruffner Road. The chain, founded in 1946, is known by many for one thing in particular -- its chili. The new restaurant, like all the other original Tommy's, is owned by the family of its founder, Tommy Koulax. The family doesn't license or sell franchises, according to 10News.
