SAN DIEGO -- "Vampire Chronicles" author Anne Rice bought an 11,000-square-foot Tuscan-style mansion in La Jolla for about $8 million and put her New Orleans home on the market, it was reported Sunday.Rice's three-story La Jolla home with panoramic ocean views has six bedrooms and 10 bathrooms, as well as an office, exercise room, media room, spa and lap pool, motor court and four-car garage, the Los Angeles Times reported.The villa was listed in 2003 for slightly less than $9.4 million, the newspaper reported.
Rice's three-story, Greek Revival-style home in New Orleans, about the same size as her West Coast digs, was put on the market last year for about $4 million; in the fall, she also listed her two adjacent, Midtown apartments in New York City for a total of nearly $2.9 million, The Times's Ruth Ryon reported in her weekly Hot Property column.Bonnie Adams of Coldwell Banker, La Jolla, represented Rice in her La Jolla purchase, The Times reported.
