Beef Broccoli

  • 1 lb. Beef Sirloin, boneless, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp. Soy Sauce
  • 1 tbsp. Corn Starch
  • 1 tsp. Vegetable Oil
  • 1/2 tsp. Garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup Onion, sliced
  • 2 cups Broccoli flortes
  • 1 cup Mushrooms, quartered
  • 1/3 cup Chicken or beef stock
  • to season Salt
  • to season Fresh ground black pepper
  • to garnish Sesame seeds
  • to garnish Scallions, minced

Method
Place beef sirloin strips in a bowl with soy sauce and corn starch. Mix well and reserve. Heat oil in a saute pan or wok. Add garlic and onion, cook briefly. Add marinated beef strips and brown over high heat. Add broccoli and mushrooms, continue to cook for 2 minutes. Add stock and bring to a simmer. Sauce will thicken. Season with salt and pepper. Transfer to a warm serving platter and garnish with sesame seeds and micned scallions. Serve with steamed rice.
