Crypt Auction On eBay Ends Monday

A Beverly Hills woman, Elsie Poncher, is selling her dead husband’s crypt -- which is located above Marilyn Monroe’s, the Los Angeles Times reported.The auction is being held on eBay, where the bidding was slated to end Monday. As of Monday morning, the leading bid was $4,601,800.00According to the Times, Poncher’s husband, Richard, bought the crypt from baseball legend Joe DiMaggio in 1954 when he and Monroe divorced.
Poncher is reportedly selling the crypt to pay off her mortgage, which, according to the Times, stands at $1.6 million.The winner of the eBay auction could also have another famous neighbor -- Hugh Hefner. The Times reported that the Playboy founder owns the spot next to Monroe’s, which he reportedly bought for $75,000 in 1992.
