Comedian Returns To Holy Land For First Time In Decades

Israelis are buzzing about comedian Jerry Seinfeld, who's in the Holy Land to promote his new animated movie about bees.Seinfeld stopped in Israel as part of a world tour talk about "Bee Movie," in which he stars as a bee who is unhappy with his life manufacturing honey for humans.Since its release earlier this month, the film has earned $112 million in North America and an additional $11 million overseas.
Seinfeld makes for an unlikely folk hero in the Hebrew-speaking Mediterranean nation with "Seinfeld," his classic nothing-happens sitcom set in a New York City high-rise. References to his humor, in fact, creep into serious items in the news.One political analyst said, "Yada, yada, yada" in discussing the upcoming Mideast summit, while two Israeli newspapers devoted nearly a full page to Seinfeld Sunday, alongside news of the summit, a month-long teachers' strike, and a weekend earthquake."Seinfeld" ended in 1998 after nine seasons.Seinfeld has been working as a writer, producer and voice actor on "Bee Movie" for the past four years."Bee Movie" also features the voices of Renee Zellweger and Matthew Broderick.
