SAN DIEGO -- San Diegans are being given the opportunity to star in a movie with Academy Award-winning actor Russell Crowe, 10News reported.
Filming for "The Far Side Of The World" will soon begin just south of the border, and producers are looking for hundreds of San Diegans to play a part.Casting directors started their first day of casting in Rosarito, Mexico, Friday.
Casting director Judy Bouley has worked on a number of projects, from "Cast Away" to "The Perfect Storm." She explained that the movie she's working on now is based on the Patrick O'Brien novel about British sailors on a mission to destroy French ships in 1806."We don't want the handsome, gorgeous types," Bouley said. "I'm really going to need men and boys with character faces."Those who make the cut will receive training in how to fire cannons, and will likely play the ship's crew. The casting directors are still looking for a few good men, and boys, to play the part.A second casting call will be held Feb. 10 at the Marriott Hotel in Mission Valley, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
