SAN DIEGO -- The world's largest comic book convention has wrapped up its run at the San Diego Convention Center.

The 2008 Comic-Con International kicked off last Wednesday with a three-hour preview night and finished up on Sunday.

Comic-Con was a sold-out event, with tens of thousands of people packed at the convention center each day.

Highlights at this year's convention included sneak peeks at several upcoming major motion pictures such as "Wolverine," "The Spirit," "Watchmen," and "Terminator Salvation."

According to the San Diego Convention and Visitors Bureau, the 2008 convention was the biggest since the event began in 1970.

Organizers spent all Sunday night breaking down booths and clearing the floor for its next event.

The bureau is polling restaurants and hotels to see how much Comic-Con made.
