Ingredients

  • 1 cup apple juice
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1/3 cup orange rind, grated
  • 1 cup tart apple, Granny Smith or Pippin, peeled, cored and diced into 3/4" cubes
  • 3 cups fesh cranberries
  • 1 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cloves

    Method
In a saucepan, combine apple juice, orange juice and orange rind. Bring to a simmer over medium. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add diced apples, fresh cranberries, sugar, cinnamon and clove. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and cover.

Cook until sauce thickens, approximately 20-25 minutes. The apples should be tender and the cranberries burst open. Remove and refrigerate until service. Bring to room temperature before serving.
