Quick Christmas Quiche

Ingredients

  • 1 Pie dough shell, 9 inch, premade
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1 1/4 cup Cream
  • 1/8 tsp. Salt
  • 1/8 tsp. Fresh ground black pepper
  • Pinch of ground nutmeg
  • 1 1/4 cup Smoked ham, diced
  • 1 1/2 cup Monterey jack cheese, shredded
  • 2 tsp. Chives, minced
  • 1 tsp. Parsley. chopped

    Method
    Prepare custard by combining eggs and cream, season with salt, pepper and ground nutmeg. Spread ham and cheese evenly in pie dough shell. Sprinkle with minced chives and chopped parsley. Pour in custard and gently tap quiche.

    Place quiche in preheated oven at 375 degrees F for 1 hour or until done. Test quiche by piercing with a knife, if knife comes out clean quiche is done. Allow quiche to rest at room temperature for 25 minutes before slicing.

    Makes 8-10 servings

    A variety of fillings and cheeses can be used to create a signature quiche. Follow the basic custard recipe and make sure condiments for filling are relatively dry.
