NCAA Game Summary - New Mexico State At Louisiana Tech

(Sports Network) - Ross Jenkins threw for three touchdowns and ran for another as the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs rolled over the New Mexico State Aggies, 45-7, in Western Athletic Conference matchup at Aillet Stadium.

Jenkins was 11-of-19 for 204 yards through the air as the Bulldogs (3-3, 2-1 WAC) won for the third time in their last four starts. Dennis Morris caught six balls for 126 yards and two scores. Daniel Porter ran 19 times for a game- high 132 yards as well.

Trevor Walls was 10-of-12 passing for the Aggies (3-3, 2-1) but picked up just 51 yards. Fellow signal-caller Jeff Fleming converted 3-of-8 for only 17 yards and was picked off once as well. New Mexico State managed a mere 142 yards in total offense.

The Bulldogs got on the scoreboard when Matt Nelson booted a 26-yard field goal six minutes into the first quarter.

Mike Compton extended the Louisiana Tech lead to 10-0 five minutes later with a 10-yard touchdown run.

Jenkins made it a 17-0 game when he scored from a yard out six minutes into the second quarter. He then connected with Morris for a 29-yard scoring strike with one minute remaining in the first half.

Tech extended its lead to 31-0 early in the third quarter when Jenkins connected with Adrian Linwood on a 32-yard touchdown pass. Jenkins then combined with Morris again, this time on a 16-yard scoring pass midway through the period. Lyle Fitte completed the scoring for the Bulldogs on a 26- yard run early in the fourth quarter.

The Aggies got on the scoreboard with five minutes left in the game when Davon House recovered a fumble and returned it 38 yards for a score.

Louisiana Tech piled up 540 yards in total offense, while at the same time limiting the visitors to just 2-of-11 on third down on the day.
