Dayton, OH -- (Sports Network) - Scott Grote scored 19 points to pace the fourth- seeded Wright State Raiders in their 68-56 victory over the ninth-seeded Valparaiso Crusaders in Horizon League action.

Todd Brown added 16 points for Wright State (19-12), which will take on fifth- seeded Wisconsin-Milwaukee in the second round on Friday. The Raiders also got 15 points from Cooper Land.

Michael Rogers and Jake Diebler posted 14 points apiece in the loss for Valparaiso (9-22), while De'Andre Haskins contributed 13 points.

Wright State scored the game's first 11 points and owned a 29-23 lead at intermission.

Over the final 20 minutes, the Raiders shot 22-of-27 from the foul line to seal the victory.

Strong defense was key to the win for Wright State, as it limited Valparaiso to 33.9 percent shooting from the floor.
