San Diego, CA -- (Sports Network) - Billy White scored 17 points to lead the San Diego State Aztecs to a 70-66 victory over the Saint Mary's-CA Gaels in NIT at the Aztec Bowl.

Ryan Amoroso added 12 points and six rebounds for SDSU (26-9), which will now take on the Baylor Bears in the semifinal play at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night.

Kyle Spain contributed 11 points and six rebounds in the win, while Lorrenzo Wade tallied 10 points.

Patrick Mills registered 18 points for Saint Mary's-CA (28-7) and also dished out five assists, but committed five turnovers in the loss. Diamon Simpson posted a double-double of 11 points and 14 rebounds, while Carlin Hughes also tallied 11 points off the bench. Omar Samhan chipped in with a double-double consisting of 10 points and 12 boards, in the losing effort.

The Aztecs limited Saint Mary's to a pathetic 28.1 percent shooting effort from the field in the first 20 minutes of action and went into the break with a 39-28 advantage.

The Gaels stormed back in the second stanza with a 48.6 percent shooting effort, and although San Diego State shot a mere 39.3 percent in the half, the team was still able to hold on for a four-point victory.

Saint Mary's won the battle on the glass by a 43-35 margin, but the Aztecs were still able to out score the Gaels in the paint, 42-32.
