San Diego, CA -- (Sports Network) - Kyle Spain scored 16 points as the San Diego State Aztecs cruised to a 70-52 triumph over the Kansas State Wildcats in the second round of the NIT.

Billy White finished with 15 points for top-seeded San Diego State (25-9), which will take on either Davidson or Saint Mary's in the quarterfinals. Richie Williams pitched in 14 points for the Aztecs.

Denis Clemente had 12 points in defeat for fourth-seeded Kansas State (22-12).

San Diego State led just 27-25 at intermission before opening up a double- digit advantage six minutes into the second stanza.

The Aztecs, who connected on 53.1 percent of their field goal attempts in the clash, have advanced past the second round of a national tournament for the first time in the program's Division I history.

Also worthy of mention is that the 25 wins posted by San Diego State this season are the most in school history.
