GAME NOTES: Coming off their most impressive win of the season, the 10th- ranked Purdue Boilermakers return to the friendly confines of Mackey Arena this evening, where they will play host to IUPU-Fort Wayne.

The Boilermakers moved to 9-2 on the season with Saturday's 76-58 win over nationally-ranked Davidson at Conseco Fieldhouse. The win was the fourth straight for the Boilermakers, whose only two losses this year have come against powerhouses Oklahoma (87-82 OT) and Duke (76-60).

The Mastodons have struggled this year, winning just four of their 11 games to date. IUPU-Fort Wayne has dropped two straight and five of its last six games overall, including a 75-48 whipping at the hands of Nebraska in Lincoln this past weekend.

This is just the third all-time meeting between these two teams on the hardwood, with Purdue winning both previous matchups, including a 79-69 decision in the last encounter in 2005.

It was a tale of two halves in Lincoln on Saturday, as the Mastodons shot .476 from the field over the first 20 minutes and actually led by five points at the break. That is where the wheels fell off the cart, as IPFW managed to convert a mere 21.7 percent after the break and fell by 27 points to the Cornhuskers. Jeremy Mixon was the only player on the roster to net double digits in the setback, as he tallied 15 points off the bench. The Mastodons actually outrebounded Nebraska, 31-26, but turned the ball over an unforgiving 24 times. Turning the ball over is something the Mastodons can't afford to do because they lack the offensive firepower to make up for it. The team is averaging just 61.4 ppg this season, on a rather bland .411 shooting. The team only possesses two reliable scorers in David Carson and Ben Botts, who are netting 14.3 and 11.2 ppg, respectively. Deilvez Yearby is next in line with just 7.6 ppg, although he does pace the team on the glass, with 6.7 rpg.

The Boilermakers tightened things up defensively against Davidson and limited All-American sniper Stephen Curry to a mere 13 points, as Purdue rolled over the Wildcats on Saturday. The Boilermakers were certainly aided by a first half that saw the team shoot a sizzling .567 from the floor, as they took a 23-point lead into halftime. Robbie Hummel led the way with double-double consisting of 18 points and 14 rebounds. Three others notched double digits in the win, with Grant Keaton (15 pts), JaJuan Johnson (14 pts) and E'Twaun Moore (11 pts) all getting into the act. The Boilermakers have thrived at both ends of the floor this season, averaging a healthy 76.0 ppg, while limiting foes to a mere 57.1. Hummel has done it all for the team, shooting .515 from the floor, .458 from behind the arc (22-of-48) and leading the way in both scoring (15.8 ppg) and rebounding (7.7 rpg). Moore is next with his 14.0 ppg, while Johnson rounds out the double-digit threats at 11.7 ppg.

The Mastodons lack the offensive depth to keep this one close. Purdue should be able to get up early and never look back.

Predicted Outcome

Purdue 88, IUPU-Fort Wayne 51
