Realtors Mary Boggess and Beth Wade, in association with Chatham real estate agency John C. Ricotta & Associates, are hosting "Baby Boomers by the Sea" this weekend, a getaway for the newly retired and the soon-to-be retired. The event is meant to introduce potential homebuyers to Cape Cod."There's something special about life on Cape Cod, and we want to share that," Wade said in a statement.
The weekend will feature a keynote presentation from Dr. Bill Roiter, a Boston-based clinical psychologist who wrote "Beyond Work: How Accomplished People Retire Successfully.""These days, especially, homebuyers concerned with retirement are thinking mostly about their finances," Roiter said in a statement. "But in our 'new adulthoods,' we need to consider other aspects of our lives, like the personal, physical, and social ones. Without proper preparation, retirees may not realize the dreams they had for their new lives."Throughout the weekend, participants will tour available properties in the area, viewing everything from private condos to exclusive waterfront homes. On Saturday evening, guests will have the opportunity to attend a reception at one of the homes on the market.
