Jennifer Jensen

As a native San Diegan, Jennifer joined the 10News team in June of 2007 as a freelance reporter and joined the staff as a general assignment reporter less than a year later.

Since that time, she has been on the fire lines of the October 2007 wildfires, on the cliffs in Encinitas just after a deadly shark attack, and dropped by a helicopter on the side of a mountain to show you a marijuana field being illegally harvested in the east county.

It was during the October 2007 wildfires when Jennifer realized how much her reporting could make an impact and help the community. Personal letters and emails helped her grasp that what she was doing was a service to those who need information about their community when they cannot be near.

Jennifer completed two college internships at KGTV: one in the sports department and one on the assignment desk. She also worked as a producer and writer at 10News before getting her first reporting job in Yuma, Arizona. She was also the evening anchor and a reporter for a CNN-affiliate in neighboring Temecula, before staying put in San Diego to work at ABC10.

When she’s not reading up on the latest news and events to affect San Diego County and the nation, she’s enjoying time at home with her husband Craig and her children. Jennifer enjoys traveling, hiking, reading, baking, and playing Scrabble. Send a story idea or message to Jennifer's E-mail.
