Cristin Severance is the Team 10 Troubleshooter at 10News. If you have a problem—let Cristin troubleshoot it! She's known for getting results and creating change in the community through her consumer investigations. Her passion is helping consumers by alerting them to scams, recalls and rip-offs.
Her reports have led to major changes in San Diego from helping to get legislation introduced to make sure school fire alarms are up to code around the state, getting changes in hundreds of cash registers in California so consumers won't be charged twice and busting local dollar stores who were caught selling drug paraphernalia to kids.
Prior to joining 10News, she was a Reporter for the Ohio News Network at NewsChannel5 in Cleveland, Ohio. In Cleveland, Cristin did several investigations into the illegal activities at Ohio massage parlors. The parlors were eventually raided by the Ohio Attorney General's Office and shut down. She was also one of the first reporters to shed light on human trafficking issues in Northeast Ohio through a series of in-depth and exclusive reports.
Her career includes being a reporter and anchor at WINK in Fort Myers, Florida; weekend anchor at WKBN in Youngstown, Ohio; and reporter/anchor at WDTV in Clarksburg, West Virginia.
Cristin is a three-time Emmy award winning journalist. Her work has also been recognized more than a dozen times by the San Diego Society of Professional Journalists, The Associated Press and the Cleveland Press Club.
Cristin grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and studied at West Virginia University where she graduated Cum Laude. Her hobbies include running, traveling, and exploring. Her travels have taken her around the world, with stops in Cuba, Brazil, India, South Africa, Korea, and Japan.
Cristin is married to 10News Live Center Anchor and Reporter Dan Haggerty. They live at the beach and feel so lucky to call San Diego home.
