Itica Milanes co-anchors the 6 p.m. weekday newscasts, and reports for the 11 p.m. weekday newscasts.

She joined the 10News team in November 2009. Previously, Itica worked in Houston, Fresno, the Carolinas, Georgia and her hometown of Miami.

Itica won back-to-back Emmy awards for Best Weekend Newscast for 2010 and 2011 and she has also won several awards for her investigative stories.

Itica was born and raised in Miami, is half Irish and half Cuban and fluent in Spanish. She volunteered with "Read Fresno" for several years, mentoring and helping elementary school children learn to read.

Some of the most memorable stories Itica has covered throughout her career include the explosion of the Space Shuttle Columbia, the disappearance of Chelsea King, and the trial of Clara Harris, the Houston dentist who ran over her cheating husband with her Mercedes.

She has broken several stories in San Diego including the DEA raid of the medical office of the San Diego Chargers team doctor, and the police investigation into Kobe Bryant snatching a man's cell phone while in a San Diego church.
