Chris Murphy is a 10News reporter weekdays and a weekend anchor for the 5 a.m., 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. shows.

He says he's thrilled to be back home in San Diego.

After graduating from the University of California, San Diego in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications, Chris embarked on a television news career which first landed him in Bakersfield at the NBC afilliate. From there it was on to Eureka, Chico, Reno, Portland and San Francisco as an anchor and reporter.

In 2004, Chris also hosted a travel show for the Discovery Channel.

In his 19 years of broadcasting, Chris considers covering the 2000 presidential race, where he interviewed both Ralph Nader and Joseph Lieberman, as his most memorable moment.

His favorite interview was Don Rickles, who Chris says is actually one of the most gracious and friendly celebrities he has every had the pleasure to meet.

In his spare time, Chris enjoys coaching his son's Little League team, helping his daughter learn her ABCs and cooking with his wife.

Chris says, "What little time is left is spent learning how to hit a golf ball straight!"
